Current Need: Volunteers are needed to help with the Salvation Army's Annual Bell-Ringing Campaign at various stores in Longmont from November 21 through December 21.  This project directly benefits the OUR Center by providing much-needed funds for shelter, rent assistance, utility assistance, and emergency prescriptions.  The bell-ringing funds also provide food for the Holiday Basket Program, and other funds are distributed as community needs arise.  Sign up for as little as one hour and this is a fun, easy project for your family, church, business, or service club.  To sign up to ring or to coordinate a group, contact Nancy Glenn at 303-651-9524 or tnglenn@comcast.net.

For general volunteer opportunities, contact Linda at 303-772-5529 Ext. 235 or linda@ourcenter.org.

Volunteer Program
The volunteer program of OUR Center has been a cornerstone of the organization success since its beginning. Volunteers donated 49,754 hours in 2007 as intake workers, receptionists, food sorters and distributors, clothing bank workers, furniture matching assistants, fundraisers, public speakers, construction workers, maintenance people, drivers, movers, computer consultants, and board members. Volunteers even rock infants at the Child Care Center! OUR Center would not exist without the hundreds of volunteers who give the gift of time. Thank you.
For more information call Linda Ulibarri, Volunteer Program Coordinator, at 303-772-5529 ext. 235.
Volunteer Spotlight for 2007: Food Pantry Volunteers!
Currently there are 55 volunteers assigned to the Food Pantry. Food Pantry Volunteers assist with receiving donated food, weighing the food, marking out bar codes and stocking the food pantry shelves. When the pantry receives rice, beans or cereal in bulk the volunteers bag and box the items for future use. Volunteer Teams assist clients by filling out their weekly grocery vouchers. Volunteers say it makes them feel good to know that the volunteer work they do is making a difference in people's lives. They know that everything that they do in the food pantry is putting food on the tables of families who are facing hardships and financial problems.
